Joseph Brook Trust
In appreciation for those who cared for horses at Golden Gate Fields, Joseph Brook, upon his death on December 19, 2023, a trust was established to financially aid and assist Golden Gate Fields backstretch workers.
This site was created for the Joseph Brook Trust to facilitate the administration and distribution of charitable funds set aside for backstretch workers who were engaged in an eligible occupation directly relating to the physical care of horses at Golden Gate Fields thoroughbred racetrack stable area.
Eligible occupations include, but are not limited to: assistant trainers, foremen, grooms, hot walkers, exercise riders, and pony riders who held a CHRB license and were in good standing with the California Horse Racing Board during their tenure at Golden Gate Fields.
